Tell us about your connection to Wigtown and the Book Festival

I volunteered at the Wigtown Book Festival in 2013 and now work part-time for the Festival Company as Marketing Officer.

Sum up your festival experience in 5 words

Ended up being life changing.

What's your favourite festival memory?

The hustle and bustle of the County Buildings from early morning until late at night, when it was beautifully lit with Astrid Jaekel’s silhouettes in the windows.

Who would be your dream author to appear at the Festival?

Lionel Shriver. I loved ‘So Much for That’ and recently got ‘Big Brother’ as a gift so looking forward to getting started on that.

Give us one recommendation or top tip for Wigtown, the Festival or D&G

I live about an hour’s drive from Wigtown and would recommend a hot chocolate at InHouse Chocolates in Castle Douglas. It's the best I've ever tasted - and I've sampled a LOT of hot chocolate in my time.
