What is the project?

An internship at Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival 2015.

Who is it for?

15-25 year olds in Dumfries and Galloway

What is involved?

It will be split into three parts:

  1. Day 1 in the office – mid-April (date tbc). This will be spent shadowing the PR and Marketing Manager and working on blogging and previews.
  2. Day 2 in the office – mid-April (date tbc). This will be spent working with the Festival Manager and Festival Co-ordinator on distribution of programmes and marketing materials and planning for the festival.
  3. During the festival (22-31 May) blogging from a location to be decided (depending on where the intern lives). This will include free tickets to shows.

What skills do I need?

The intern should enjoy writing and also be prepared to help out with whatever is needed. They should be flexible, have good time keeping skills and have used social media.

When will it happen?

The first two days will be in mid-April, depending on the availability of the intern. The third part of the internship will take place during the festival. These dates will be decided between the intern and D&G Arts Festival.

What will I be doing?

Main duties will include:

  • Writing blogs about shows that will be of interest to young people in the run-up to the festival.
  • Writing reviews of some of these shows during the festival.
  • Helping to distribute programmes, leaflets and posters.
