
Box Office Supervisor
Wigtown Festival Company is seeking a hardworking and dedicated individual to supervise the Wigtown Book Festival box office from 17 July – 6 October 2023.
This is a predominantly customer-facing role. The successful candidate will supervise all aspects of the festival box office full time from 17 July until 6 October. They will work closely with festival staff and volunteers to ensure that all events are uploaded onto the system and checked prior to the programme going live, taking and processing customer bookings in a professional manner and recording these accurately through the company’s box office system. They will supply a weekly report on sales at staff meetings and be responsible for communication with customers in the lead up to and during Wigtown Book Festival to ensure any changes are advised and pre-event reminders sent out. They will oversee the rota for the box office with support from the Volunteer Co-ordinator
Location: Wigtown
Contract type: Temporary commission. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own tax and national insurance contributions.
Duration: 12 weeks (17 July – 6 October 2023)
Hours per week: 40 hours
Pay: £5,232.

The post holder should be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience in a variety of computer software including Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
- The ability to build good relationships and earn trust and respect
- The ability to relate to people from all backgrounds
- Self-starter with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
