Europe's Future

What will Europe look like in twenty years’ time? Will the EU resemble a United States of Europe or was Brexit the canary in the coalmine? By 2038, will divergent national economies, fears about mass immigration and right-wing populism have put paid to the dream of “ever closer union”? In this discussion, we listen to expert voices from across the continent. Our panel includes Richard Lewis from the Institute of European Studies in Brussels; Marie Rosenkranz, research associate at the Berlin-based think tank, the European Democracy Lab; and Fabian Zuleeg, Chief Executive of the European Policy Centre. Chaired by the political commentator and former Scotsman editor, Iain Martin. [116]
