What information Wigtown Festival Company collects

We collect personal information from you through your communications with Wigtown Festival Company.  This includes: when you create an account on our website or by telephone when buying tickets to events, subscribing through our website, competition entry, membership, customer evaluations and any other forms that you may complete, as well as any e-mails that you send us.

What Wigtown Festival Company does with your personal information

We use personal information that you give us to answer your enquiries and provide you with information you have requested. We also use this information to better understand our audience attendance and participants, so we know what activities and events customers prefer to enable us to continue to develop. 

If you give us permission to do so, we may use your personal information to keep you informed about Wigtown Festival Company events and activities. We will only ever contact you by telephone if we have a query or information regarding a booking or submission you have made to us.

Many children and young people are interested in information about Wigtown Festival Company activities including, but not limited to, Big Wig, WTF and Big DoG festivals.  Childrens’ and young people’s privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Any child or young person under the age of 14 should always ask a parent, guardian or teacher for permission before making any type of online enquiry.

Use of photographs

We commission a photographer to take images of people at all Wigtown Festival Company events and activities. Some of the resulting images are used on our website and in print to promote the activities of Wigtown Festival Company. We take every measure to ensure the subjects of the photographs (or a parent/carer) grant permission for the image/s to be used by us for promotional purposes, at the time the photograph is taken. Should you believe that an image should not be used for any valid reason please contact us and we will remove it.

Consent

Wigtown Festival Company will only retain your information if you actively opt in to regular communications. You can do so here. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time.

If you purchase tickets for an event but do not opt in, we will retain your information until the end of the event, and only contact you if there are any changes that you need to be aware of.

By opting in and disclosing your personal information to us, you will be consenting to the collection, storage and processing of your personal information by Wigtown Festival Company.
