Podcast ~ Episode 9: Bookseller / Storyteller

Scotland's National Book Town is full of stories. In this edition of our podcast, we stick close to home to talk to two tellers of them.

Owner of The Bookshop in Wigtown, Shaun Bythell is the author of the internationally successful Diary of a Bookseller and Confessions of a Bookseller. We ask him about the recent new diary extracts he has written for the festival website. Plus we get a sneak peek of a new book due out this autumn, which reveals the truth (as he sees it) about his customers.

The irrepressible Renita Boyle is Wigtown Book Festival's Storyteller-in-Residence. She discusses the power of stories told aloud, and introduces her regular new initiatives Friday Folk and Fable Fridays, which takes place every Friday and Tuck in Tales, which launches next month. We also discuss Renita's work in schools and her experience of winning the Wigtown Scots poetry prize.

PRESENTED BY PEGGY HUGHES. PRODUCED BY COLIN FRASER. INCIDENTAL MUSIC BY RAGLAND.
