Love Letters to Libraries

10 November 2014

This year, Dumfries and Galloway Library invites writers everywhere to join in celebrating Book Week Scotland with Love Letters to Libraries. Anne Rinaldi, Library Support Officer, Dumfries and Galloway Library Service, says: “The aim of the project is to make Dumfries and Galloway libraries visible and to make a powerful statement about why and how we should value them, by placing thought-provoking letters in the media during Book Week Scotland. We would also display the letter in our libraries during Book Week Scotland.

The guidelines: The letter should be addressed to your favourite library; The letter should be no more than 1000 words long, it could also be a poem or postcard;  It should be heartfelt, singing the praises of libraries, and bringing the reasons for loving them to life. The deadline for getting the letter to [email protected] is Tuesday 18th November.
