Spring Fling Writer in Residence: Skye Loneragan

16 May 2016

Passionate about curiosity as a kind of currency, writer/performer Skye Loneragan will be installing herself on bus tours during Spring Fling, connecting across distances with those travelling between artist’s studios.

She will be offering a poem to those who want one, a small slice of spoken word to accompany staring out a window at what passes. She is curious about how we each see things differently, collecting the conversations inspired by visual art that may spill back onto the bus. As Wigtown Book Festival’s writer-in-residence, Skye has held workshops as part of her research in Dumfries & Galloway, and will host another workshop during Spring Fling.  She’ll be exploring the Blue Route through the offer of a lift in exchange for a poem in transit.

Sydney Poetry Prize & Edinburgh Fringe First winner, Skye’s public engagement work includes installing herself in places/spaces of waiting, including Q-POETICS (poet and poetry in queues), and Making a Map of My Mistakes (Glasgow’s New Victoria Hospital).
