The Cold War Legacy

County Buildings
Sat 5 Oct

This November marks 30 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the beginning of the end of the Cold War. We look at the legacy of those events – political, economic and social. A wounded Russia. A united Germany. A lone US superpower. Freedoms won but in some cases at a cost. Our panel: Kristina Spohr is the author of Post Wall, Post Square, a history of the global exit from the Cold War; Allan Little is a former BBC special correspondent, who reported on the break up of Yugoslavia in the 1990s; Trevor Royle is a journalist and author specialising in international affairs and defence.
