Julian Baggini

The Godless Gospel

Online Event

Free, ticketed

Even if we don't believe that Jesus was the son of God, we tend to think he was a great moral teacher. But was he? Join Julian Baggini as he challenges our assumptions about Christian values by focusing on Jesus’s teaching in the Gospels. In his new book the philosopher strips away the purely religious elements, such as miracles and the Resurrection, and asks if idealised values such as kindness and helping the needy match what Jesus taught. We are introduced to a more radical Jesus than popular culture suggests.

While leaving the ego in pieces, he gives your mind a thorough workout” – Intelligent Life Magazine
