Musician and broadcaster Ricky Ross, best known as the charismatic frontman of much-loved Scottish band Deacon Blue, has finally written his memoir. It guides readers from his childhood in Dundee, through his early years as a youth worker and teacher in the city of his birth, and into his adopted home in Glasgow, to forming the band in the 1980s and the huge success they enjoyed. Hear about the highs and lows of a musical career that took Ross and his band mates all around the world, through chart hits and break-ups, solo careers and the band's recent renaissance. You might even learn what it's like to meet Bruce Springsteen along the way.

As well as his musical career, Ricky Ross can be regularly heard on BBC Radio Scotland presenting Another Country. Deacon Blue are currently touring the UK.
