'A week is a long time in politics,' former Chancellor Rab Butler famously said. But, increasingly, so is 24 hours. In a year studded with tumultuous political days, the fabulously entertaining broadcaster and political commentator Iain Dale comes to Wigtown, fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe where he has been talking to the great and the good (as well as a few politicians).

He’ll be talking about some of the most dramatic days in our political history, from the Peterloo Massacre to Black Wednesday and the Brexit vote, and considering the unexpected forces that can derail governments and dethrone Prime Ministers.
